How do you Make a cheerleading Spirit Stick?

I have went on line and looked it up, but I can’t find anything really that will help me.. I have looked on photo-bucket and other places to see if I could get some ideas on what they look like and how to make one.
But so far no luck. She is needing it for Cheerleading.
I was hoping y’all could give me some help on this one.
