    gymnastics

A lot of the routines incorporate elements of hip hop. You’d also do well to take some gymnastics classes to work on the flips. Good luck and have fun with it.

    Dancing classes or kinetic classes

Acro dance would help it combines acrobatics with dance. Modern/contemp would also be good. Even Jazz would build endurance for you and get you “dance fit”

  5. Karen Says:

jazz, hip hop, ballet, and aerobics for cardiovascular endurance, gymnastics for the flips, and yoga for flexibility and muscle strength.

  6. Exotic Bellydancer Says:

Hip hop for the dance routines they’ll set up. Ballet and Gymnastics would be helpful but not necessary. It all depends on your flexibility and since you’re young even if you’re not so flexible you can train your body to be so. You’ll have to practice hard otherwise there’s no point. Also have school spirit.

    East Coast Swing!

jazz and hip hop. and gymnastics if you consider that a dance class

Jazz Funk. And believe or not ballet would help you a lot too. I’m a varsity cheerleader for my high school. But I’m a dancer before that. I think ballet has helped me the most. But jazz funk or pop jazz would be the closet to cheer dancing.

Jazz dance is close. And to help you with jazz and cheerleading you could also take ballet. It’s kinda the basic of all dances and will definitely help you.

I’m not sure but maybe hip hop might help…but jazz will be best definitely. :)
    Good luck!

First you should take Hip Hop because in cheer you have a million of moves and when your in cheer you can probably use some of the hip hop dance moves to make up a good dance routine for competitions, second you should take gymnastics, or acro1 or 2 depending what you know how to do that way just for an extraaa something to practice on your flippps/splits/jumps. (also if you maybe want i doubt you do but joining jrotc will help you gain confidence help you learn leadership help you work on snap and also help you get a LOUD voice DiaPhraM and maybe with all those skills you can become the Cheer Captain)

I would say most of all Ballet cuz it really helps with technique and flexiblilty than try hip hop cuz it helps you with isolations and it makes it easier to catch choreagraphy

ballet is the most important because it teaches you the basic techniques. then you can branch off to jazz, which is the most versatile dance form (the best time to learn gymnastics too). then study hiphop to give you the attitude!
