No offence, 13 is a late start if you’re cheering for an all-star team, but if its for school, thats okay. Just try to eat better, less grease/fat more veggies and protein. I dont really understand your question though. Maybe if you could tumble that would help, practice jumps, say 3 of each everyday? That would also help with your weight. Also I’m sure at your age, you’ll do stunts, I do too. im 13. i do [libs/extention/scorpion/scale/arobesque/heal strech] So maybe practice for those, if you think your flying practice balance. if you think you are going to base/backspot try buliding muscle in your arms.

Um, I calculated your BMI, and you are average. Just at the top though, so I can tell that you are probably a little flabby. You are still average though, but most cheerleaders need to be .. skinny.
So, do sit-ups. I know, it strengthens your stomach, but it also flattens it out, and do squats for your legs. The only way to lose fat on your arms is to strengthen them, so lift weights, or do push-ups. Good luck! Hope I helped…

Okay, i am head of my squad at my middle school, I have to tell you that they do not pick cheerleaders for appearence, it is picked for thier ability. Now i am not trying to be mean, i am trying to be brutally honest. The reason they will probably not choose you is not because you seem ugly or weird to them. Weight is a big part of cheerleading, your physical ability is weakened by you being over weight. Cheerleading is a serious sport, not just for ditzy girls who need something to do! We work hard train hard and if you can take the heat you are kicked off! You have to be able to run for a long distance, have good stamina, be strong (HOLDING PEOPLE IN THE AIR) you must have good spirit, and you have to know that this is something you dont want to quit at. So if you are not chosen it is plainly because of the incapability of you being able to handle the sport.

1 you’re not fat…don’t worry about that. I had problems with wanting to lose weight in my stomach. I did leg lifts. You lay on the floor and put your hands under your seat, pick your legs 6 inches off the ground lift to make a 90 degree angle with your body (L shape) then lower but don’t touch the ground. Do as many as you can in one minute. That was a life saver for me! As for cheerleading. Make sure you are flexible that always helps. Strong arm muscles is always a good thing too. Work on forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands. Those are all the building blocks to all the harder gymnastic skills. And make sure when you are working on cartwheels you work both sides, one normally is fairly easy and looks good the other normally doesn’t look good at all but if you can make them both look good you have a lot going for you! Any more questions feel free to e-mail me or anything.
